General Rules

1. Films are limited to 7 minutes. No minimum length is required.
|
|
2. Films may contain no more than 30% of surface footage, the remaining portion being underwater.
|
|
3. Films may contain no more than 10% of animated stills.
|
|
4. Films must have been completed after January 1st, 2016.
|
|
5. Footage must have been taken in a natural environment and wildlife must not have been restrained, harassed or injured in any way.
|
|
6. All films submitted may contain voice-over tracks and/or music. The music should be royalty free and filmmaker must own the rights to use it.
|
|
7. The language must be English. Films can be captioned or subtitled in English.
|
|
8. Open to any location and any theme.
|
|
9. Films will be judged by an international panel. Judging criteria will include: originality of theme, quality of editing, storyline and aesthetic quality of images.
|
|
10. The festival reserves the right to not award the prize should the quality of the submitted film be judged unsatisfactory.
|
|
11. The winner and runners-up will be officially announced on October 19, 2018.
|
|
12. Entries submitted by a same participant are limited to 3 shorts.
|
|
13. Participants must follow all the instructions as stated in the "Submission Process" tab.
|
|
14. All submission must be under 3GB of data and in 1920x1080 format. If a file exceeds this limit, please contact us to make arrangements.
|
|
15. Deadline for submission: September 30, 2018 at midnight EST (UTC -5).
